Is Sprinting
The Ultimate Exercise
for Health and Longevity?
When you see Olympic sprinters blazing down the track in the 100m finals...

It's hard to imagine that this one exercise could be the secret to maintain your physical fitness as you get older.

In fact, you might even think the opposite, since it looks insanely taxing on the body, right?

However, as we here at Sprinters Academy slowly discovered...

After dedicating years of our lives to studying this one single movement...

It seems that the right dose of sprinting, added to almost any exercise routine...

Offers an incredible diversity of benefits, not found in almost any other exercises.

And if done regularly, in moderation...

Sprinting could in fact be the key to keeping your body young and healthy as you get older.

But before we get into the specific details of these benefits...

I'd like to start this post...

First off with an important concept which applies to all forms of physical exercise:

Eustress vs Distress

Simply put, there are two types of stress:

Eustress, and Distress.

Distress is the type we're all familiar with...

Which is defined as any type of stress (either physical or mental) that has an overall NEGATIVE effect on the body.

Breaking your arm would be an obvious an example.

Eustress on the other hand...

Is any type of stress that has an overal POSITIVE effect on the body.

Eating all your spinach (assuming you hate spinach) would be a classic example of eustress.

The Distress of Many Sports
and Gym Workouts

Physical activities such as sports and gym, are commonly thought of as things that keep us fit and healthy.

Correct?

And for the most part, that's true.

However when you look closer...

You'll noticed that many of these activities are actually a combination of both eustress and distress.

And much of what you do in these sports, can actually have an overall negative impact on your long-term health.

Getting hit in the head in football...

Getting choked out in MMA...

Or tearing a muscle in powerlifting...

Would all be classic examples of distress in sports.

Football, MMA, and powerlifting are also 3 classic examples of sports...

That most likely have an overall DISTRESSFUL impact on the body.

Can you guess which exercise might be on the other end of that spectrum.

You got it...it's sprinting!

The Long-Term Eustresses
of Sprinting

As we at Sprinters Academy eventually discovered...

Done SAFELY, in the proper DOSES...

It seems there is NO other form over exercise ...

With a higher EUSTRESS/DISTRESS ratio than sprinting.

And it makes sense when you stop and think about it for just a moment...

Because for 98 percent of human evolution as hunter gatherers, the simple act of running hard and fast...

Away from our predators, and towards our prey...

Made up probably 90% of our daily exercise.

So there is no other movement that our bodies are more innately designed to perform.

Next, let's get in to some specifics...
