How Sprinting Improves
Lung Capacity
As we age, it's common knowledge that our lungs lose effectiveness over time.

However unlike our muscles, which we all know can be strengthened through exercise...

When it comes to the lungs, for some reason...

Very few people make a conscious effort to keep their lungs strong.

Which is a shame, because they're the one part of your body...

That participates in supporting literally every moment of your entire life.

So in this post...

We're going to cover one amazing long-term solution to this problem, which is of course, sprinting.

First up...

What Happens to the Lungs As We Age

It's quite simple really:

Your breaths are no longer as deep as they once where...

Because the lungs can’t inflate as well as they used to.

And you have to take more breaths per minute...

Since each breath is less efficient at delivering oxygen to your body.

And as a result, every single thing you do in life, exercise especially...

Becomes less efficient as a result...

Since you no longer have the strong steady supply of oxygen that you once had.

The Solution?

To keep your lungs strong year after year...

The concept is pretty much the same as keeping your muscles strong.

You have to stress them in a way, that requires more strength than they currently have.

Which sends a message to your brain saying:

Hey, we need to devote more resources to making this thing stronger, if we want to continue living.

See your body, just like you, is lazy.

And it only wants to do as much work as it thinks it needs to get by.

And if your daily life doesn't require the work on its own...

You need to manufacture it yourself.

By exercising at the gym for example. However...

The Problem With Gym Training

If you've spent a decent amount time working out in your life...

You already know that on your average gym session...

Very few people ever stress their lungs to the point of overload...

Simply because with weights, your muscles fail long before your lungs do.

So they never really get the workout they need in order to stay strong.

Which brings us to the far better alternative:

Sprinting for Strong Lungs

Unlike the gym, and the vast majority of other exercises...

With sprinting, maxing out your lungs is simply a natural consequence of the training...

And requires no deliberate attention or willpower on your part.

As a result, the lungs get extremely strong, because they get a massive workout every time.

Because of the fact that there’s literally no other exercise the human body can do...

Which requires more oxygen consumption per second…

It puts constant pressure on your lungs to maintain peak performance…

By intaking as much oxygen as possible with each breath…

Breathing as fast as necessary to keep pacing with your body...

And delivering that oxygen as fast and efficiently as possible...

To the muscles that need them most...for as long as it can.

And since your lungs will eventually fall behind no matter how strong they are…

This also puts pressure on the rest of your body to learn how to use whatever oxygen it has more efficiently…

Which ultimately means, a higher supply and lower demand, for any given task in life.

And as I'm sure you can imagine...

This one thing is among the top secrets to staying young as you get older.
